Hypnotherapy in-place of Anti-Depressants

Doctors have prescribed Anti-Depressants as the cure for depression for years, with little mention of available alternative therapies like hypnotherapy or the side effects of the Anti-Depressant drugs being prescribed.

Recently the Daily Mail broke the news that the Royal College of London has now officially told Doctors to warn patients being prescribed Anti-Depressants of the many potential side effects

Hypnotherapy for Depression

One of the alternatives to Anti-Depressant medication for Depression is hypnotherapy. Using hypnotherapy we can find and tackle the actual causes of depression rather than suppressing the resulting symptoms of depression.

By tackling the cause of depression using hypnotherapy and providing on-going self help techniques, it is not only possibly to cure depression without medication, we also enable the patient to potentially resolve future situations on their own.

Depression Therapy

Depression occurs when your emotional system feels that it cannot cope (maybe it feels overloaded) and then turns down (depresses) your feelings to try to help you, but unfortunately it turns down the positive and negative feelings which can then give you a “what’s the use” attitude or maybe even worse. This can happen because of fears, pain, anxiety and hurt from the past or just at a time in your life when things got on top of you. It can also happen when you think about the future and (consciously or subconsciously) project the same kind of negative feelings into future events (causing further anxiety, fear, etc.).

It can affect you physically, causing problems such as eating disorders, sleep disturbance, a lowered sex drive, fatigue and anxiety, and it can also affect your ability to think clearly making it difficult to focus plus it could also stop you feeling joy in your life.

Once it starts it tends to fuel itself and then you could become caught in the cycle of depression causing further negative feelings to occur (which then can cause more depressive thoughts and feelings).

You could find that your depression changes in a relatively short period of time using Hypnosis, NLP and EFT (over a few sessions) because when the negative feelings linked to your past memories are balanced to an appropriate level and the positive feelings on your good past memories are heightened your feelings about the past and the future change.

I have had many clients who at their first session just cannot believe that they have any good memories at all anywhere in their past and are surprised that after coming to see me and listening to the CDs that I give to them they then find themselves remembering positive memories .

Neither I nor any hypnotherapist cures depression, what really happens is that when you come to see me at my office in Warrington ( I also cover Widnes, Runcorn and St Helens) as a Clinical Hypnotherapist using Hypnosis, NLP, EFT, etc. I help your mind and body to heal itself.

Using Psychotherapy, Psychology and CBT It could take many years to make lasting changes but using well established techniques along with up to date techniques from the fields of Hypnotherapy, NLP, EFT, Timeline Therapy, EMDR, Tapas Acupressure, The Healing Codes, etc. Healing has been known to take place in a relatively short space of time and in some cases only a few sessions.

In fact many of the techniques that I am trained in have been used successfully to help in healing PTSD, fears and phobias in places and situations where time is of the essence and where it is not possible to spend months and years to effect a cure, these include the war zones, within certain NHS trusts and also at airports for flying phobias.
